What is the Youth Council?

The Youth Council is charged with overseeing the coordination of federal youth workforce programs with education and other services for young people at the local level.

  • Addressing the specific needs of youth in the community
  • Creating a vital plan using the labor marketing info and other community data
  • Organizing the youth activities in the community
  • Referring Workforce Investment Act youth providers to the Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board
  • Watching over the WIA-funded programs and activities
  • Increase the youth employment and training focus in the community to bring about a youth development out look
  • Building community awareness and showing leadership to address key development,education and employment issues affecting the youth
  • Promoting the goals,activities,and accomplishments of the Youth Council
